GCWA partnership
The GCWA partnership is open to all international or civil society organizations who sign on to its principles; those organizations who do so will be listed on the GCWA website and other communication materials, as relevant, as “GCWA Partners”. Other coalitions, consortia or campaigns on issues related to women and AIDS may also choose to affiliate with the GCWA as partners to participate in its work or collaborate on harmonized messaging. Individuals and organizations who choose not to become partners can register for the GCWA Mailing List to be kept abreast of the latest news.
By joining the GCWA, partners commit to strengthening their own organization’s work on women and AIDS. The GCWA is a supporter of the NGO Code of Good Practice and the associated Women and AIDS Checklist, and encourages all partners to review these tools, and use them to strengthen their own organizations.
Organizations sign on to the GCWA partnership for a two year, renewable period. This allows for a process where partners can review their participation and renew their engagement. The GCWA Steering Committee (nominated by GCWA partners) and the GCWA Secretariat are responsible for mobilizing broad participation in the GCWA and in reviewing requests to participate in its work.
