PHREB is a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to fighting violence against women and girls. Our aim is to work towards a society in which every person enjoys the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and core international human rights conventions.
TURNING OPPRESSION INTO EMPOWERMENT
PHREB believes that five key areas of change in Bangladesh are needed to dramatically improve the position of women and girls across the country.
1. End violence against women including promotion of gender equality and safe spaces throughout society and government
2. Connect violence against women to the denial of their civil, political, economic, social, and cultural human rights
3. Promote sexual and reproductive rights to reduce maternal and infant mortalities and avert medical complications
4. Promote women’s right to health via awareness about good hygiene, physical education, disease prevention and nutritional security
5. Promote girls’ access to primary and advanced education
