What we do
The GCWA seeks to
MOBILIZE our partners, decision makers and society at large to advance the AIDS response for women and girls at national level;
INFLUENCE the response through placing emerging or unaddressed issues firmly on global and national agendas;
ACT by reaching out to a broad array of partners to gather the technical resources needed by countries and communities to address programming challenges; and,
EMPOWER women and girls to participate in and influence national responses, and build accountability for results.
This translates into concrete action at global and national level
At global level
- We convene members around common issues to deliver results
- We commit on common objectives and joint strategies
- We act as knowledge-brokers for our members
- We coordinate our global advocacy agenda
- We support at global level our national level agendas
At national level
- We work with stakeholders to achieve change in the NSPs and associated budgets
- We generate synergies among our members
- We help define roadmaps for action
- We help empower local organizations
